One Case of Laparoscopic-Assisted Radical Hysterectomy with Pelvic Lymphadenectomy

Abstract
|
|
|
Pelviscopic radical hysterectomy with lymphadenectomy has a faster recovery period with shorter hospital stay, decrease in hematoma formation due to smaller incision wound, and an increase in easiness of laparoscopic surgery due to an improvement
of
surgical technique and the advancement of surgical device compared to conventional radical hysterectomy. However, in the case of gynecologic surgery there is debate about the possibility of the spreading of cancer cell during laparoscopic surgery
and
the accuracy of laparosocpic surgery, and currently in gynecologic cancer laparoscopic surgery is very limited. Although there have not been any long term comparative study on the survival rates, in the case of early invasive cervical cancer,
there
are
many reports that laparoscopic assisted radical hysterectomy with pelvic lymphadenectomy can replace conventional radical hysterectomy. We are reporting this paper after performing a laparoscopic-assisted radical hysterectomy with pelvic
lymphadenectomy
on a cervical cancer patient with FIGO stage Ib1 in the OBGY department of KHMC on July of 2001.
